Harriet Miers

So - President Bush has nominated Harriet Miers to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Does anyone want to pretend that President Bush could have nominated anyone the left would have been happy with... Hillary, Screamin' Howie, Hanoi John Fonda, The Kopechne Killer? Take your pick among anyone who would guarantee to legislate from the bench on behalf of Les Etats Bleus d'Amérique, and it's virtually certain that the überleft would object based solely on the fact that it was Bush's nominee.

That's how intense these people are about gunning for Red State losses. They're certain to be nonplussed about
Miers' dossier. That is - until MoveOn.MichaelMoore.Salon.com and DailyDemocratUnderground.Kos.net issues them their Griping... er, 'Talking' Points.

Then, once they're told what they "think" about Miers, we're going to hear all about it.

Ms. Miers' Legal Qualifications include:

  • "In Her Time In The Administration, Ms. Miers Has Addressed Numerous Legal And Policy Questions At The Highest Levels Of Decisionmaking, Most Recently Serving As The Counsel To The President Of The United States." (The White House, Fact Sheet, 10/3/05)

Maybe the left will finally start to catch on that there's more to Leadership and than leading lemmings over the far-left abyss, and that there's more to Political Influence than expecting judges to legislate from the bench when they have rendered their own party exceptionally weak.

But don't count on it.
